cHiCkEns...

Steven has been wanting to get some chickens for quite some time now. His sister had some at her house when she lived in Mesquite a couple of years ago. His younger brother now rents the house from her so the chicken coop is still available. Steven caught word yesterday (from my Mom..) that Ace had baby chicks and we all headed straight down there to pick some up. We got four, two yellow and two brown. The girls think they are the coolest thing ever and are constantly wanting to look at them and hold them. We have them in a box on the kitchen counter for now with a light on them for warmth until they get a bit bigger and ready for the coop. We also have to do a little work on the coop before they can move to it since it currently houses lots of big weeds, some spider webs and a wasp nest. We will work on the coop this week sometime hopefully. If we are lucky, they will all survive the kids pestering them all the time and eventually we will get some eggs out of them.

Thanks. Now my kids want some. They are cute though. Does the constant cheeping drive you crazy?

How cute! We just went to the Hafen farm for the K fieldtrip and it was fun to hold them, although they weren't that tiny! We did get to hold some cute little baby bunnies too. Good luck!
